Tour Diary 1.0 8-9&15-2024

wide open spaces that lead you to dingy dark places. tour is always different but follows the same format. every day you are tasked with a mission, play the show. what you do before that usually involves a drive, a meal, and everything after that a gamble. the experience can turn into a blur in just a week. who's got time to remember what day of the week it is when every day is the same?

We’ve been on the road for a week as of yesterday. Honestly, that feels like a surprise to me. My life back home feels months away. I don’t miss it as much as I anticipated, at least not yet. This tour more than the past few feels like work. Not in a bad way but we are out here to do a job and that job is to grow interest in our band. Which proves to be harder than I think.

Last night we were in Louisville for the first time. I enjoyed the energy of the city. The show was also one of my favorites on the tour. it felt like the crowd understood what we were doing better than they did in Nashville the night before. The show was bigger in Nashville and a lot more stiff which makes things feel hostile on stage. I know people enjoyed it but it's hard when you can feel it during the set. I’ve been having a tough time with that on stage lately. I feel so vulnerable playing.

Well, when I was writing this a few days ago my laptop died in the van and I lost my train of thought. The chicago show was a true turning point. All the show since then have been great and something started clicking.  We’re in Madison Wisconsin for a few days hanging out and recuperating. So far tour has been really fun with no real hiccups. If we’re coming to your city and pop out. Say you saw this post on the website and I’ll give you a free shirt. I’m excited for the new Enumclaw album, Home In Another Life to drop August 30th and the new zine is almost done and on its way to the people. Like always please tell the people about the site and if you’re interested consider signing up for the zine.
