Cindy’s Restaurant on 3/29/25
Michala aka Mike:
Went to Cindy’s Restaurant this past Saturday, I was riding the high of not having the flu anymore but also riding the low of being sort of hungover :/ When we arrived there was a small group of people waiting in front….EEK! Luckily we only waited 10-12 minutes. We got to sit at the bar once it was our turn and I find that heavenly in a diner environment. I was toying between ordering the spicy chilaquiles or the eggs benedict and ultimately went with the benny. The hollandaise was so perfectly lemony and the ham was THICK and delicious. The potatoes on the side didn’t look like anything crazy but had so much flavor. Other things to note are that the booths are a perfect orange, the strawberry cake looked delicious in one of the cases, and Aramis now has a goatee (he didn’t at Elmer’s).
Overall here are my ratings:
Atmosphere: 9/10
Food: 7.5/10
Coffee: 10/10 REALLY LOVED!!!
A really good option in the town of Eagle Rock :)
Aramis:
Finally got to visit Cindy’s Diner in Eagle Rock. I've been hearing about Cindy’s since I first moved to town. The infamous Matt Berry is known to hold down the fort for the dinner rush. That's how it first came onto my radar but I was told it was kinda pricey and it wasn't in my neighborhood so I never visited. Times had changed though and I was ready to finally see what was up with this Eagle Rock gem. I woke up Saturday morning and diner breakfast was all I could think about so I hit up Mike and off we were. I can make a lot of stuff on a standard breakfast menu at home so when I go out I want something I can't do that well at home. That usually is something off the griddle like pancakes or waffles. I make great French toast (;. We pulled up and a handful of people standing in queue outside but we decided to wait anyway. I knew before I even looked at the menu I was gonna get pancakes. The wait was quick and we sat at the bar. The vibe was perfectly homie like something you’d find in the Midwest. I ordered their version of a lumberjack, they called it Noah’s Arch. Two pancakes, two eggs, and bacon. It was perfect. The pancakes were easily in my top two favorites of all time. I also felt like the serving size was perfect. Mike got eggs benedict which I had a few bites of. It was perfectly seasoned. This seems like the kinda place I’d go to at least once a week.
Overall here are my ratings:
Atmosphere: 9/10
Food: 8.5/10
Coffee: 6/10
I can't wait to be back. I might just ma ke the drive to eagle rock sometime this week!
